WWE Investigating Drew Gulak; Superstar Written Off TV
WWE

Following some shocking remarks by Ronda Rousey, WWE is investigating Drew Gulak, and the Superstar has been written off TV.

Drew Gulak has been working on NXT for a bit now but has recently been missing from TV. Ahead of WrestleMania, former WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey released her book. In the book, she made accusations against Gulak. She alleged that, in backstage interaction, the then-fellow WWE Superstar grabbed at her inappropriately. According to Rousey, no one batted an eye, which stunned her.

What next?

Gulak, for his part, issued his own statement about the accusation. He called the incident an accident where he was shaking hands backstage and during that process, inadvertently grabbed or touched Rousey’s drawstring. The Superstar said he quickly apologized for the incident and that it was a one-time thing. To the best of our knowledge as of this reporting, no other incidents have been reported involving Gulak, so it does right now seem to be a one-off.

However, in recent NXT appearances, Gulak’s group, the No Quarter Catch Crew, have appeared without him. His name has been removed from their video wall presentation. And on the April 16th edition of NXT, he was written off TV. His remaining crew mates had an interaction with The Family, where it was basically laid out that the family took care of someone for the crew. No names were used, but the implication was clear-Gulak is off, maybe for good.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE is investigating Drew Gulak. The belief is he will not be back on television. I have a few thoughts on this. First, at least for now it does seem like it was one isolated incident-termination purely for that seems excessive, especially if it was purely accidental. Second, if WWE has written him off, it could be that as the company investigates Gulak, it found other issues or concerns. Third, the reality is while Drew Gulak may be a good worker, he won’t get any special treatment. Depending on how things turn out, we may have seen the last of him in NXT.
