Sevilla midfielder Lamela announces his season is over

Sevilla midfielder Erik Lamela has announced his season is over.

A knee strain will see him forced to the sidelines for the remaining games. With his deal due to expire, Lamela may also have played his last game for Sevilla.

He posted to social media: "Sevillistas, I am very sad and it is difficult for me to understand that yesterday was my last game of the season and I still cannot handle it.

"It is time to recover and encourage my teammates for what remains of LaLiga.

"Thank you for your messages."
