Bournemouth do not look very likely to sign Inter Milan-owned goalkeeper Andrei Radu on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper note that the Romanian has made just two appearances for the Cherries so far this season.

Radu made the move to Bournemouth on loan during the summer transfer window.

This represented another opportunity for the 26-year-old to really find his feet in a new environment.

Radu is a player who has been out on a few loan spells whilst an Inter player.

The Romanian has had loans at Genoa and Parma. And then last season, he was at Cremonese over the first half of the campaign.

Radu’s time at Cremonese didn’t begin well, with a major error against Fiorentina in his first match.

This had echoes of the Romanian’s costly howler in a Serie A match against Bologna for Inter.

But then Radu began to find form. But he had the misfortune of Marco Carnesecchi working his way ahead of him in the pecking order.

Then over the second half of the season, Radu was on loan with Auxerre in Ligue 1 over the second half of the campaign.

And there, the Inter-owned keeper actually had an ironclad place in the starting eleven.

Radu helped Auxerre to avoid relegation from the top flight.

Bournemouth Not Likely To Sign Inter Owned Andrei Radu Permanently

In making the move to Bournemouth, there was a sense that Radu could well be ending his Inter adventure for good.

The English club only signed the Romanian on a loan deal.

But there is an option in that deal for Bournemouth to sign Radu on a permanent basis for €8 million.

However, that option is not mandatory.

And the way the start of the season has gone suggests that Radu is not likely to have a permanent home on the English South Coast.

Veteran former Juventus, Fiorentina, and Barcelona keeper Neto remains ahead of Radu in the pecking order.

Bournemouth had signed Radu as a younger option for a new project under coach Andoni Iraola this season.

But evidently, Iraola has preferred to opt for the experience of Neto.

Therefore, it is likely that Radu will return to Inter when his loan with Bournemouth expires.

This will not necessarily be welcome news for the Nerazzurri. Radu has looked a player clearly out of the project, and a permanent move to Bournemouth for a fee could have represented a good way to sort out his future.
